Never mind, I found that it's the breast I have to buy.

Cornish game hens are pretty cheap. Buy one and just cut it in half right down the breastbone. WHen you flip it over (meat side down) you'll see all the rib bones and stuff right there. I cut off the pieces for MowMOw (rib meat/bones and wings) and turned the rest into a tasty chicken soup for myself.

(.....I just realized I bought a chicken for the cat and fed myself the crappy leftover parts....wth?)

LOL sounds familiar!

Here a CGH costs $6. Is it cheaper where you are?

@Saitenyo - Cornish Hens can be bought at many grocery stores, but sometimes you really have to look for them.

@Straysmommy - Yep, it's "Chicken breast meat with Ribs". I cut off about 80% of the meat and serve it for a separate meal, then cut the ribs and the softer / thinner parts of the other bones and feed that as a meal.

@MowMow - LOL!! When that same thought came to me, I was like, "DOH!". But you have to do what you have to do for your furkids, right? :wink :love2 LOL!

Thanks, AC. I'll ask for it that way.

You two are selfish and heartless. :) With the leftovers I made chicken stock, the solids then blended and added back to the stock, then thickened it with a bit of flour and butter and added the gravy from a deli chicken and froze it in daily portions. I add a bit of it to his raw food every day as gravy.

I don't eat meat, because the freezer is too full with Prince's meat in ziplocs for 3 months.

Oh and the bones that Prince wouldn't eat and couldn't be blended, I fed to the strays downstairs.
